A day in the life... on the production floor

If you’ve ever wondered what keeps Framerica humming, it’s not just the machinery — it’s the people behind it. The ones who show up in the morning, lace up their boots, and turn raw materials into miles of moulding that will one day frame art, mirrors, and memories all across America.

This is a day on the production floor — where craftsmanship meets rhythm, precision meets pride, and every line hums with purpose.

7:00 AM — The Floor Comes Alive

By seven sharp, the hum begins. Forklifts move like clockwork, operators gather around their stations, and a scent of freshness fills the air. There’s a rhythm to it — part symphony, part routine.

Coffee cups are drained, gloves are pulled on, and production lines roar to life. What might sound like noise to a visitor is, to us, the sound of possibility.

8:30 AM — A mill in Action

Over in the mill, sheets of MDF are transformed into perfectly milled profiles — the backbone of every Framerica moulding.

Each operator keeps a watchful eye on gauges and feed rates. The precision is almost surgical. Mike, who’s been with Framerica for nearly two decades, adjusts a control just slightly. “A thousandth of an inch can make all the difference,” he says without looking away from his machine.

The profiles emerge smooth, consistent, and ready for what comes next. Around here, perfection isn’t an accident — it’s a habit.

10:00 AM — The Art of the Wrap

Down the line, the wrapping machines kick into full swing. Rolls of decorative film are threaded and aligned, ready to meet the freshly cut profiles.

This is where craftsmanship and technology dance in perfect sync. The film meets the profile, adhesive melts to temperature, and — in seconds — a raw profile becomes a beautifully finished moulding.

Jasmin, one of our wrapping operators, runs her fingertips along a freshly wrapped length. “You shouldn’t feel an imperfection,” she says with a grin. “If you can feel it, we fix it.”

That’s not just a motto — it’s a standard.

12:30 PM — Lunch and Laughter

By noon, the plant quiets down — just a little. The smell of coffee and sandwiches fill the air for half an hour. Teams gather around breakroom tables, trade stories, and laugh about everything from last night’s game to weekend fishing plans.

It’s the kind of camaraderie that only comes from working shoulder-to-shoulder. This isn’t just a workplace — it’s a family that builds things together.

1:00 PM — Quality in Every Detail

The second half of the day is all about refinement. Finished mouldings move through inspection, where sharp eyes and steady hands catch even the smallest imperfection.

Every surface is wiped clean, every surface checked, every foot logged. It’s a step that takes time — and it’s one we never skip.

“Many people can make moulding,” says Carlos, our moulding production supervisor. “But not everyone can make it Framerica perfect.”

2:00 PM — Packing and Precision

Boxes line the shipping area as the final runs roll off the line. Each order is packaged carefully — labeled, stacked, and readied for shipment. Some are headed to contract framers. Others to national distributors. All of them carry the same promise: quality made in America.

Forklifts hum again, moving the day’s output into position for trucks that will roll out at day’s end.

3:15 PM — The Day Winds Down

As the lines power off and the floor settles into quiet, the pride remains. The same pride that’s been running through Framerica for over 57 years — built into every length of moulding, every perfect finish, and every person who makes it happen.

For most people, a frame is just the border around something beautiful.
For us, it’s the beauty you build — one lineal foot at a time.
